How does Coventry trailer rental work?
All trailer hires and rentals require a cash holding deposit and a specified rental charge. Customers are required to bring their UK Photo Driving Licence, one proof of current UK address that is no older than 3 months and will also be required to provide their National Insurance Number to perform our licence checks. Our friendly team will help you hitch up the trailer and take you through the trailer’s functions, showing you everything you need to know.
Who can hire a trailer in Coventry?
We offer trailer rental to both domestic and commercial customers. Commercial customers can pay through their company, receive VAT receipts and even set up credit accounts, but all hire agreements must be completed as an individual. Customers are required to bring their UK Photo Driving Licence, one proof of current UK address that is no older than 3 months and will also be required to provide their National Insurance Number to perform a licence check. Customers have to be 18 or older with no more than 6 penalty points in 3 years and no disqualifications in the last 7 years.
Are there special licence requirements?
As of late 2021, all persons holding a full UK Driving Licence are now eligible to tow up to 3500KG within the UK, so long as their vehicle permits this. We have lightweight unbraked trailers from 300KG to 750KG and braked car trailers from 2600KG to 3500KG. These ratings include the weight of the trailer empty and the weight of the load the trailer can carry. For example, a 3500KG trailer might weigh 1000KG empty and have a carrying capacity of 2500KG.

How long can I hire a trailer for?
Our standard rental rates are priced in 24 hour hire periods or by the week (7 days). We do offer long-term rentals but these are calculated and provided on request. We are strict on our rentals so we advise customers to stay punctual to avoid further charges. If you have paid for 24 hours hire, you have 24 hours to return the equipment; not 25 hours.
Can I take a trailer from Coventry abroad?
We do allow our trailers to travel abroad. Our trailers are not to be taken abroad without prior arrangement and proof of necessary recovery / breakdown cover (this includes Scottish Highlands, Channel Islands and Northern Ireland). Hires outside of the UK Mainland also require a larger holding deposit which can be found here.
